How Do I Know if Therapy is Right for Me?
You may be wondering if you should take the leap and see a therapist. Going to a therapist doesn’t make you weak; it means you’re human. Whatever you’re dealing with in life, talking to an unbiased therapist may benefit you.
In an article from Forbes, several reasons were outlined as to why people seek therapy, with the the number one reason being that the effects of seeing a therapist lasted a long time. Everyone has problems, and it’s great when you have a support system. A therapist can help you sort through your problems and help you to learn more coping skills.
Why Seek Therapy?
Many people find that therapy helps relieve stress, and stress can cause agitation to your physical body (like digestive issues or chronic headaches). Therapy is a great resource to help you figure out what is bothering you.
Anxiety
Constantly worrying? Having difficulties turning your brain off? Therapy can help reduce anxiety and worrying by stopping automatic thoughts and increasing coping skills.
Depression
Feeling unmotivated? Having trouble sleeping (not enough or too much)? Therapy can help to improve your mood, and reduce feelings of sadness and emptiness.
Life Changes
Not feeling like yourself? Sometimes we go through changes in life that are difficult and leave us feeling not like ourselves. Therapy can help get back to being you, or start a new you.
